Scott has spent 30 years advising private and publicly held companies in mergers and acquisitions as well as private and public capital raises and financial restructurings. Prior to joining City Capital Advisors in 2007, Scott was CEO of Brown Gibbons Lang & Company, a leading middle market investment bank, which he co-founded in 1995; prior to that Scott worked for Rodman & Renshaw Capital Group Inc., where he founded and headed the firm’s investment banking department (1985-1995) and where he served on the Executive Committee of that NYSE company; prior to that he was a partner of the Washington, DC law firm of Arnold & Porter (1978-1984); he served as Assistant General Counsel for Litigation for the U.S. Department of Energy prior to that from 1974 to 1978; and he started his legal career as Washington Counsel for the Environmental Defense Fund (1971-1973). Scott is a director of Silver Bullet Water Treatment Company LLC and BCV Evolve LLC and he serves on the Board of Intuit; The Center for Intuitive and Outsider Art. He was named a regional “Entrepreneur of the Year” by Ernst & Young in 2002 and the “Middle Market Dealmaker of the Year” by The M&A Advisor in 2003.
